YAY!!! My credit score is above 680!

Posted by 700 Quester on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, In : credit score
I haven't been working on my credit score as much lately, but I decided to check up on it and  was excited to see a 687!

Lexington Law Firm is still doing their job and getting me some awesome results.  I still have a couple of negative items that showed up recently from an old collection account.  They removed everything else though and my credit has improved drastically.  My wife's credit is now over 700, so we should be able to get a home loan.

I am very happy with what we have been doing an...

I hate Experian

Posted by 700 Credit Quester on Thursday, June 17, 2010, In : credit repair
Out of all the credit bureaus, Experian has given me the most problems.  They send me stall letters, they don't investigate and they don't send updated credit reports.  Out of all the credit bureaus they have given me the most problems.

Transunion seems to be the easiest.  My items were removed on the first dispute and they have looked good.  Equifax was in the middle, items were removed on the first dispute, but still 1 item on there that hasn't come off yet.

I just don't understand why credit...

Wow, the ultimate credit repair guide

Posted by 700 Credit Quester on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, In : credit repair services
I'm always looking around the web for new sites or ideas on how to raise my credit score to 700.  This Credit Repair guide has everything you are looking for.  They list a variety of ways to increase your credit score that include lowering balances, increasing limits, and removing negative items.  It is very cool.

They also recommend Lexington Law Firm, which is no surprise since they seem to be the best credit repair service out there.  I am using them also, waiting on the credit bureaus to s...

High Credit Score is More Important Now Than Ever

Posted by 700 Credit Quester on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, In : credit score
The more and more I look around, the harder it seems to get approved for a house.  Don't worry I'm not getting a bunch of inquiries on my credit.  I've just been calling and checking online and with banks about what they can offer and for what credit score.

It seems now more than ever you need a high credit score to qualify for a home.  The housing bubble that burst has made lenders afraid to lend to just anybody.  They don't want to get stuck with another foreclosure.  That is fine, but it ha...

Hate Playing The Waiting Game

Posted by 700 Credit Quester on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, In : credit repair services
I'm just waiting for my updated credit reports to arrive.  Lexington's service is nice, they have an online dashboard where you can see what is in dispute and all the work that has been done.  Very comforting to know I have a law firm on my side and not some guy in a basement sending out the disputes for me.

I'm still working on getting my name onto some of my wife's accounts.  It almost seems harder to gain credit then to remove it.  I'm worried I'm going to be sitting on 650 credit with no n...

Signed up with Lexington Law Firm

Posted by 700 Credit Quester on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, In : credit repair services
I signed up with Lexington Law Firm in November to remove my negative items off my credit report.  I have 1 charge off and 4 collections.

I had already ordered mycredit reports through Identityguard, but it was nice because Lexington Law pulled my Trans Union credit report for free.  I sent in my 3-in-1 credit reports, so they had all 3 in the system.  I set it up so I won't be charged the first payment for 15 days, so gives me some time to get my credit reports into them and start disputing.

My Credit Score was 588

Posted by 700 Quester on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, In : credit score
So not as bad as thought and now in January it is 638, so 50 points higher.  My credit was much worse a few years ago, but I think several years of being married and being a parent has helped.  I have been a little more responsible and have piggy backed on my wife's credit a little bit.  My wife's average credit score is 680, so quite a bit better, but can still use some improvement.

I have researched a few options on what we think would be the best options to raise our credit score.  The le...
