I signed up with Lexington Law Firm in November to remove my negative items off my credit report.  I have 1 charge off and 4 collections.

I had already ordered mycredit reports through Identityguard, but it was nice because Lexington Law pulled my Trans Union credit report for free.  I sent in my 3-in-1 credit reports, so they had all 3 in the system.  I set it up so I won't be charged the first payment for 15 days, so gives me some time to get my credit reports into them and start disputing.

They have an awesome dispute valet service that makes it really easy to see what is happening on my credit reports.  It pulls up my negatives and I decide how they will be disputed if I want and they do the rest.  It lets me know what disputes are out there and what is still reporting.

It still takes over a month to receive updates from the credit bureaus, so I have some time.  I will send in my disputes as soon as they enter my credit report information in their site.  I will update everyone when that happens, wish us luck.

My Credit Score was 588

So not as bad as thought and now in January it is 638, so 50 points higher.  My credit was much worse a few years ago, but I think several years of being married and being a parent has helped.  I have been a little more responsible and have piggy backed on my wife's credit a little bit.  My wife's average credit score is 680, so quite a bit better, but can still use some improvement.

Credit Report Ordered

I ordered my credit report through www.identityguard.com Did a little research and they offered free credit reports from all 3 credit bureaus and all 3 credit scores free.  You still have to sign up for a 14-day free trial for their service and then you will be charged $17.99 if you don't cancel in those 2 weeks.  I just have to remember to cancel.

Procrastination will kill me!

Well, I haven't done anything yet, ha. Like my title says, procrastination is a huge reason while most people have bad credit to begin with. They don't want to pay their bills on time, they don't want to call their creditor, and they don't want to repair their credit.

I have resolved to do these things, if not just for me, for my wife and kid, kids on the way, and so on.

I will order my credit report this week.

This is something I have to do to get started. Need to know what is on their to begin...

Let's Start The Quest For 700 Credit

I want a 700 credit score.  But unfortunately mine is not even 600.  This is my quest.  Join me as I pay down debt, budget, and dispute my credit report on my quest.

My wife's credit is also bad, better than mine though.  Now of course many of our accounts are joined together, so my accounts will begin to pull hers down.  I will post my credit reports on the site to show what we are looking at.  I will monitor my credit scores in the process and hope they get higher.
